...fastest times overall, would advance to the semifinals.

The field included a lot of current collegians and recent graduates.
Hazel Clark easily won her quarterfinal race in 2:02.65, the fastest time of the day.
Perry Fields (2nd, 2:03.47) advanced and let out a couple primal screams shortly after crossing the line.
Clark looked good and has already run under 2:00 this year.
Nikeya Green (5th, 2:05.77) missed advancing by a narrow margin.
Lauren Simmons (3rd, 2:03.52) advanced to the following day's semifinals.
Chloe Jarvis finished ninth in 2:10.97 and did not advance.
Jen Toomey and Ashley Wysong line up for the second 800m semifinal.
Jearl Miles-Clark, one of the favorites to make the Olympic team.
