Lauren King of Notre Dame finished 10th in the mile final in 4:50.57.	McWilliams took a victory lap after her win and generally seemed...	...much more comfortable in the spotlight than she had one...	...year earlier.	Nicole Cook of Tennessee gets ready for the 800m final.
Kentucky's Beth Heimann.	L-R: Beata Rudzinska, Cook, Neisha Bernard-Thomas, Alice Schmidt, and Kamille Bratton.	Rudzinska had the fastest time coming into the meet, and Cook ran the fastest time in the prelims.	Alice Schmidt is a two-time NCAA Outdoor 800m champion.	Nicole Cook had finished second in this race a year ago by .06, behind Lena Nilsson of UCLA.
Cook's determination was evident from the start.	Coming off the second turn, the runners who started on the outside - Michigan's Katie Erdman...	...Missouri's Ashley Patten, and Kentucky's Heimann merged withthe rest of the field.	Erdman moved straight for the front, joining Cook, who had already grabbed the pole.	LSU's Bernard-Thomas tucked in behind the two.
Missouri's Patten and Kentucky's Heimann.	Rudzinska got caught in the back of the pack early on, and seemed to expend a lot of energy...	...moving up to the front on the second lap.	Florida's Kamille Bratton would finish seventh in 2:07.29.	With one lap to go, Cook continued to lead and Rudzinska ran just off her shoulder.
