Stephanie Madia, a sophomore at Notre Dame, finished 22nd in 17:29.44.
Stephen F. Austin junior Ana Rodriguez finished 16th in 17:14.65.
Campbell senior Heather Lee finished 25th in 17:46.00.
BYU freshman Ruth Graham finished 26th in 18:19.13.
Kim Smith passed through 3K in 9:34.4 and 4K in 12:45.8.
Molly Huddle continues to lead the rest of the field.
The pack remains tightly bunched.
R-L: Emmily Chelanga, Sara Bei, and Clara Horowitz run behind Renee Metivier (not pictured).
Oklahoma State's Michelle Prowse finished 10th in 16:53.77. Prowse, like Smith, is a New Zealander.
This run, Smith's third NCAA title in four months, looked like an easy jog for her.
Christy Csorna (12th, 16:58.09) leads Shannon Wommack (11th, 16:54.22).
With two laps to go (R-L) Huddle, Bei, Chelanga, Metivier, and Horowitz are all still in contention for second place.
Kate Boyles of Cornell finished 14th in 17:07.56.
Penn's Emily Logan, a senior, finished 21st in 17:26.76.
With one lap to go, Molly Huddle - who had pushed the pace for much of the race - had a slight lead over...
...Stanford's Sara Bei.
Vanderbilt sophomore, Erika Schneble ran well enough (8th, 16:46.45) to earn All-American status.
Smith cruised in for the win in 15:48.86, 36 seconds ahead of her closest competitor.
Bei (left) used trademark kick to edge out Huddle for second place.
Bei finished in 16:24.90 with Huddle 3rd in 16:25.44. Chelanga (16:33.97) and Horowitz (16:34.44) finished fourth and fifth.
Bei congratulates Smith on her win.
Vanderbilt's Schneble is coached by legendary U.S. miler Jim Spivey.
Boston College's Jennifer Kramer earned All-America honors with her 7th place (16:40.26) finish.
Smith looked like she had just completed a light workout and struck up a conversation with fellow New Zealander Michelle Prowse when she crossed the line.
