The first lap of the second of two 1,500m prelims.
Arkansas' Shannon Spaulding (right) and Londa Bevins set the pace.
Michigan's Lindsey Gallo, who was in the midst of a great season, runs on...
...the outside. Also up there is Tennessee sophomore...
...Brooke Novak.
Georgetown's Treniere Clement runs in the middle of the pack.
R-L: Clement, Julie Cameron, Natalie Hughes, Jessica Huff, Anna Sherman, and Iryna Vashchuk.
Auburn's Spring Dawson and USC's Vashchuk...
...trail the pack.
Michigan's Gallo takes over the lead on the second lap, with Bevins in second.
Even though the 1,500m was run in the evening, the weather was...
...still very humid at race time.
Somewhere between 700m and 1100m, BYU's Julie Cameron lost her right shoe.
Auburn's Dawson went on to finish 12th in 4:35.52.
Gallo continues to lead with one lap to go, and Villanova's Marina Muncan...
...moves up on the outside.
R-L: Bevins, Muncan, Clement, Hughes, and UTEP's Corine VanBeek.
Clement finished third in March's NCAA Indoor mile.
The top four would automatically advance to the final.
Cameron ran extremely well (7th, 4:22.06) despite missing a shoe.
