Rudzinska (left) ran down Patterson to win, 2:05.52 to 2:05.68. They were the only runners from the second...
...prelim who advanced. UCLA's Caldwell (2:06.51) missed the cut by .002 of a second.
Baker finished fourth in 2:06.53, also narrowly missing out.
Utah's Nellie Hammons and Tulsa's Melanie Hardy line up for the third of four 800m prelims.
