...football stadium to see if they could wait out the storms, NCAA officials eventually came up with a revised meet schedule.
Above: Allison Laske. The first of three rounds in the 800m was canceled and the preliminary rounds were very competitive as a result.
Kajsa Haglund, a senior at the University of Texas-Arlington who is originally from Sweden.
The winners of each of the four preliminary heats would advance to the final, as would the runners with the next five fastest times.
Nicole Petty, a junior, was one of two 800m qualifiers form the University of Nevada-Reno.

On the first lap, Tennessee's Kameisha Bennett led.
R-L: Denton, Bratton, Haglund, and Laske.
Bennett won in 2:03.83, which ended up being the fastest time of the day.
Also advancing from the first round were Petty (2nd, 2:05.81) and Denton (3rd, 2:06.51).
Laske finished fifth in 2:06.73 and did not advance.
Bratton finished fourth in 2:06.55 and missed advancing by less than .1 of a second.
