...challenged by Bennett, but she held on to win her first NCAA title in 2:02.86.
Bennett finished second in 2:03.11, with Schmidt third (2:03.79).
Bernard-Thomas post-race: "I’m pretty satisfied with what I did. It's not very fast, but I’m happy that I won and that I gave the team 10 points."
