Sara Bei of Stanford finished 12th in 16:48.17.
Arizona sophomore Beth Hoge finished 13th in 16:49.43.
Jodie Hughes finished ninth in 16:36.20.
With less than a lap to go, Fleshman leads.
Gorton began to drop back and Fleshman appeared to be home free.
As Fleshman rounded the first turn, the Stanford cheering section chanted "Flesh-man, Flesh-man..."
Kristin Price runs in third.
Marni Kruppa, with one lap to go here, finished 16th in 16:55.82.
Fleshman's strong kick put her well ahead of the field...
...She won in 15:53.91, nearly seven seconds ahead of the next finisher.
The Stanford senior now has three national titles ('01 and '02 outdoor 5,000, '02 indoor 3,000).
Siri Alfheim used her strong kick to come up for second (16:00.47). Price (16:01.25), Gorton (16:02.08) and O'Neill (16:13.60) followed.
Fleshman and Ann Marie Brooks congratulate one another.
