|
With
just over three laps to go, Shalane Flanagan leads Lauren Fleshman
and Sara Gorton.
|
Molly
Huddle leads Mary Cullen and Sara Bei.
|
Bei
was starting to look vulnerable, letting Huddle and Cullen go a
little bit.
|
With
two laps to go, it's still Flanagan, Fleshman and Gorton.

|
Huddle
and Cullen continue to run 4-5.
|

had dropped back significantly but was still in sixth place with
two laps to go.

11th in 16:36.55.

|
It's
down to a 400 meter sprint. In the past, Flanagan was usually able

...to
blow Flanagan away and win her third-straight 5,000m title in 15:24.06.
|
Flanagan
looked disappointed with her runner-up finish, but her 15:30.60
was a personal best.
|
Fleshman's
winning 15:24.06 broke Amy Skieresz's 1998 meet record of 15:37.77.
|
Gorton
held on to third place, finishing in 15:40.13.

|
Gorton
set her personal best earlier in the season, running 15:24.97 at
Mt. SAC.
|
Huddle,
a freshman, finished 4th in 15:55.96, just ahead of Mary Cullen
(15:58.47).
