surprisingly, Tiffany McWilliams jumped straight into the lead at
the start of the 1,500m final.

After
so many runners set personal bests and school records in the semi-finals...

things were expected for the final.

Elmore and the rest of the field.

McWilliams

was clear that McWilliams was on a fast pace by how much distance

Nilsson had run 4:07 earlier in the season and was generally regarded
to have a better kick than McWilliams.
