Nicole Blood's 4:50.6 1,600 moved Saratoga Springs up to second place (11:56.39).
The start of the High School Girls' Mile.
Sarah Bowman of Fauquier (VA) leads Meghan Owen of Killingly (CT) and Ari Lambie of Bromfield (MA) on the first lap.
Also in there are #12 Ashleigh Wetzel, #13 Casey Nelson and #3 Lauren Centrowitz.
On lap two, Bowman continues to lead Owen and Lambie.
Nicole Erby of Cumberland Valley (PA) finished eighth in 5:02.54.
Lambie put in a huge surge near the end of lap two.
Owen and Bowman run 2-3.
Owen will attend the University of North Carolina next year and Bowman is only a sophomore.
Jessica Flinn of Timberlane (NH) leads Ashleigh Wetzel of Lewisburg (PA).
Carolyn Yates of Toll Gate (RI) finished ninth in 5:02.94.
Abbey Sadowski of Griswold (CT) finished 13th in 5:10.29.
Lambie ran almost 10 seconds faster for the second half of the race (2:25/2:16).
Her winning time of 4:42.21 broke Kim Gallagher's Penn Relays record of 4:49.2 which was set in 1979.
Lambie's mile was the fastest time run by a U.S. high school girl in the past 21 years.
Lambie will attend Stanford University next fall.
Sarah Bowman finished second (4:48.69), followed by Meghan Owen (4:50.58).
Ashleigh Wetzel finished fifth in 4:56.23.
Kelli Buck of C. Milton Wright (MD) finished 11th in 5:08.75.
Casey Nelson of Hunterdon Central (NJ) finished 12th in 5:09.23.
