Return to Forever Poem

Return to Forever
By Randy Ramage ©1978

Time passes by us both quickly and slow.

And we tend to forget things we once used to know.

Take for example the Lady Arlene.

Throughout all known space she alone ruled as Queen.

Although this all happened a long time ago;

You just might remember what we all should know.

Lady Arlene was honest and fair

And she had a great beauty to which none could compare.

Her clothes all tight fitting and skilfully done.

And strapped on her hip was a black Laser gun.

On a planet named Apex,at this galaxy's core,

Was this leader of men whom we all adore.

Arlene of Apex threw on her cape.

She stepped in the Thruster and shot off into space.

Ten minutes later, plus a second or two,

The planet of Pax loomed into view.

The clouds rushed by as the Thruster went down.

Cities sped past until she had found

That most noble city built of marble and stone.

She landed the Thruster in the ship landing zone.

A young man named Rex, the king of this land,

Deserved a great honour from her very own hand.

The planet ran smoothly without war and crime.

The sick were now well and the poor doing fine.

The wisdom and skill of a thousand great men,

King Rex brought together and tested again.

The truths that were found were all written quite clear.

And systems were formed which when put into gear

Would bring any planet from hunger and strife,

And end war and crime, thus add much to life.

This was all offered as a gift to Arlene.

The ruler of space, our Almighty Queen.

Arlene was escorted through pillars of stone,

Through chambers and halls and then to the throne.

Rex was there waiting and rose to his feet.

Their eyes met that moment, their hearts missed a beat.

Both felt the sensation; they both let it grow.

Arlene felt so close to this man she didn't know.

"So you feel it too?" Asked Rex quite surprised.

"I feel that I knew you in some other lives.

If so, welcome back, if you know what I mean,

Your beauty is greater than any I've seen"

"Thank you dear Rex." The Queen then replied.

"We must both uncover these memories that hide."

For twenty-one days she stayed with the King.

Their love grew and one night Rex gave her a ring.

The pair were then married. The whole galaxy knew.

And what celebration because of these two.

But this didn't delay their efforts to find

The secrets that lay hidden in the depths of the mind.

Then breakthroughs occurred! The secrets revealed.

Their memories awakened; no longer concealed.

Methods were formed by this dynamic young pair

To make every man and woman more able and aware.

Perhaps you remember the changes that occurred

In all men and women on every known world

Crime was abolished. The sick were made well.

And the other advances would take volumes to tell.

Rex and Arlene worked through day and night

For ten years on end to make things go right.

Their love had grown deeper as they worked side by side.

They vowed never to part even after they died.

The time came to pass, eighty years from that day,

Arlene just stopped breathing; Rex died the same way.

But both were reborn. They never were gone.

They are with us always for spirits live on.

Rex and Arlene lived time and again,

As does each person, its the nature of men.

The difference now being, thanks to Rex and his wife,

All men remembered their every past life.

Years passed by quickly until one fateful day,

An invader force struck from a galaxy far away.

They burned every planet. We could not defend.

The life that we knew had come to an end.

Man was degraded and put under control.

Their aim was to capture and command every soul.

Work camps were formed. The great slave race grew.

Some people fought back, but only a few.

Ten thousand years passed. Few changes were made.

Some men tried resisting but most were afraid.

Those who rebelled were sent to one place;

And artists as well were sent in disgrace.

They sent down the criminals and big businessmen too.

For those hard to handle, this same fate was due.

All on one planet. All starting from birth.

No memory of past lives. This planet was Earth.

A young man and woman, who live here with us,

Met one another and they stepped off a bus.

Each stared at the other as they stood in the rain.

They felt a strange closeness they could not explain.

"So you feel it too?" He asked rather slow.

"I feel that I've known you a long time ago.

If so welcome back, if you know what I mean.

Your beauty is greater than I've ever seen."

"Thanks." She replied. "Yes, I'm feeling this too.

Perhaps we should find out why we feel as we do."

Once more together to remember the past.

Rex and Arlene are with us at last.
