April 21, 1953 - March 22, 2002

Randy was born in Flin Flon Manitoba to Clayton & Shirley Ramage. He was one of 6 children and the first-born. He had 2 brothers: Greg and Bradley, 3 sisters: Brenda, Wendy and Christine. He spent most of his childhood in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Canada.

Randy had a wonderful childhood with lots of adventure. He had a pet salamander, a snake, raised a hawk and a great horned owl. He went on lots of camping trips with his family and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He had a mischievous and playful nature that sometimes got him into trouble. I won't share all the tales he told me of his youth but they were mostly very happy times.

Randy lived a very full life and was always very productive. He worked in a nickel mine, lumber jacked, and did his journeyman's in electrical. He had a passion to travel and sailed through the Panama Canal to New Zealand, Australia and Africa. He caravanned through the Sahara, climbed mountains, explored Roman ruins and met people in 36 different countries. He came to realize what he was searching for was within himself.

Randy came into my life October 1973 in London, UK. He was so hansome with long dark curly hair and beautiful big brown eyes. I instantly fell in love with his charm good looks, voice and special manner. He was wonderful to be with and I was walking on air.

We were married January 3rd, 1975. Our life together was a very special journey and we reached the mountain top some years before Randy had to leave this place. We had 28 years and 6 months together. Through my life with Randy I learned the true meaning of love. He was, the most patient man I ever met. I remember at times complaining he was too nice. It took me some time to realize that was the nature of his being and I tried to learn from him.

We spent 15 years working together running a jewellery business. Randy was always helping people with his vast knowledge in nutrition. He had a way of drawing things out of people. When a customer would come to buy some jewellery he would always ask how is your day going? A lot of the time he would just be there listening to a persons physical or emotional problems always willing to help when he could. He made many friends who would just stop by to say hello and have a chat.

Randy had an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. While he had a great love for Science Fiction he also had many books on health, nutrition, philosophy, history and just about every other subject. One of his main goals in life was to increase his awareness and reach as high a spiritual state as possible. He was a student of a religious philosophy (Scientology) most of his adult life. The knowledge he gained from Scientology greatly enhanced his life and our life together.

Randy was taken away by a very rare illness named "severe aplastic anaemia". We have no way of knowing why Randy developed this condition. He had always been very health conscious and nutritionally aware and was never ill. His Doctor felt it was very likely due to exposure to Yellow Cake while working in a mill in Uranium City some 25 years earlier. His sister Wendy donated her bone marrow for a transplant. Sadly Randy developed fungal septicemia just after the transplant, which was not picked up and he passed away suddenly during the night.

Family and friends are left with many rich memories of a wonderful, wise, loving and kind man. When Randy departed, a part of me, went with him. He was my life, my love, my very best friend and will remain in my heart forever.

I have posted here also a Collection of Poems that Randy created and made public over the Internet. The only change I made was to add Randy's photos to each poem. Some poems where also published in books of poetry: Natural Poems (1995), AEON New Renaissance Poems (1995), Poetry Now Anthology (1996) and Poetry Now South East (1997).
