Alicia Craig and Lena Nilsson get ready for the 3,000m final. Nilsson had about an hour to rest after winning the 800m.
Malindi Elmore had only slightly longer than that to recover after finishing eighth in the mile.
Arizona State's Lisa Aguilera was making her first appearance of the meet.

There were 17 runners in the race, which made for a crowded start.
The runners break for the poll and it's (L-R): Shalane Flanagan, Lauren Fleshman, Julie Culley and Lisa Aguilera.
Lauren Fleshman heads for the front.
Approaching 400 meters, L-R: Bevins, Huddle, Craig, Flanagan, Culley and Fleshman.
Lauren Fleshman leads with Shalane Flanagan just off her shoulder.
Also in there is #283 Megan Metcalfe.
Approaching 600 meters, not much has changed.
Mannova moves up on the outside.
Wurth and Bevins had both run the mile about 80 minutes earlier.
Approaching 800 meters.
R-L: Fleshman, Flanagan, Nilsson, Huddle and Gorton.
Approaching the 1k mark.
The leaders split 3:07 for the first kilometer.
