McGettigan (4:42.49), Malindi Elmore (4:42.67), Courtney Inman (4:42.76) and Erica Sigmont (4:44.36) also advanced.
Ann Somerville, a senior at Michigan State, finished sixth in 4:47.54 and did not advance.
Erica Sigmont snuck in to the final with the last time qualifier (4:44.36).
