Montana sophomore Zoe Nelson on her way to victory.
Nelson's winning time was 17:30, 14 seconds ahead of the second runner.
Nelson's time was actually one of the slower winning times in the history of the race...
...but cross country times are difficult to compare and Nelson did what it took to win this race.

Trotter finished second in 17:44, improving on her third-place regional finish.

New York sophomore Laura Cummings also surprised, finishing fourth in 17:48.
