HIGH SCHOOL: Foot Locker Midwest - Erika Odlaug in 17:49, Foot Locker Northeast - Natasha Roetter in 17:48, Foot Locker South - Laura Stanley in 17:34.
Manchester Road Race (Manchester, CT) Svetlana Zakharova wins a close battle with Amy Rudolph on the 4.748-mile course, 24:22 to 24:23. Duke's Sheela Agrawal, who redshirted cross country, finishes 10th in a strong 26:23.
Fort Collins Thanksgiving Day 4-Miler (Fort Collins, CO) Colleen DeReuck wins in 21:48, Nicole Jefferson is second in 21:55.
Outback Half Marathon (Jacksonville, FL) Ramilia Burangulova, 40, wins in 1:12:54.
Redding Medical Center Turkey Trot 10k (Redding, CA) Nicole Teter wins in 33:44.
Troy Turkey Trot 5k (Troy, NY) Mollie DeFrancesco wins in 16:59.
Thanksgiving Day "Turkey Stuffer" 5k (Springfield, OR) Liz Wilson (17:10), Laura LaMena-Coll (18:00), Annette Peters (18:11) and 14-year-old Erin Gray (18:25) go 1-2-3-4.
Andrea Holden 5k (Dennis, MA) Emily Bryans wins in 17:17.
Mile High United Way Turkey Trot 4M (Denver, CO) Jen Michel wins in 22:04.
International Thanksgiving Run 4-Miler (Orem, UT) Kara Ormond wins in 22:07 and the Harper family makes a good showing behind her. Amber, 16, finishes 2nd in 23:18, Cheryl, 39, is 3rd in 23:55. And Krystal, 11, wins her age group in 27:44.
Atlanta Marathon/Half-Marathon (Atlanta, GA) Laura Drake (2:55:57) wins the full marathon, Donna Garcia (1:17:01) wins the half.
Seattle Marathon/Half-Marathon (Seattle, WA) Joan McGrath wins the marathon in 2:49:25. Kristi Way-Thomas wins the half in 1:25:45.
Thanksgiving Day 10k (Cincinnati, OH) Kathryn Krieger wins in 35:53.
BCC YMCA Turkey Chase 10k (Bethesda, MD) Georgetown's Erin Sicher wins in 36:50.
Run to the Far Side (San Francisco, CA) Maggie Visser wins the 10k in 36:56, Jamie Cardenas wins the 5k in 17:40.
Thanksgiving Parade Turkey Trot 10k (Detroit, MI) Kara Molloy (37:39) over Jessie Lair (37:46).
Thanksgiving Day 4-Miler (Portland, ME) Christine Snow-Reaser wins in 23:09.
Turkey Classic 3.5 Miler (Framingham, MA) Christy Martin wins in 19:54.
Dan Gibbons Turkey Trot 5k (Elmhurst, IL) Kim Miltz wins in 18:03.
Citizen's Gas Race for Heat 10k/5k (Indianapolis, IN) Lucie Mays wins the 10k (37:28) and Suzanne Castruita wins the 5k (17:45).
Talking Turkey 6-Mile XC Race (Holyoke, MA) Marjorie Shearer wins in 36:20.
Harvest Ramble 6-Miler (Great Barrington, MA) Molly Vreeland wins in 36:33.
Delaware YMCA Turkey Trot 8k (Buffalo, NY) Jackie Rzepecki wins in 28:55.
Gobble, Gobble, Gobble 4-Miler (Somerville, MA) Francine Darroch wins in 23:44.
Feaster Five (Andover, MA) Suzy Walsh wins in 29:30.

Division I NCAA Cross Country Championships - see our special section
Division III NCAA Cross Country Championships (Augustana College, Rock Island, IL) Dana Boyle of Puget Sound wins convincingly in 16:46. Heidi Wolfsberger of Moravian (17:12) and freshman Jenn Campbell of Williams (17:13) are second and third. Middlebury defends their team title with 98 points to runner-up Williams' 166.
Division II NCAA Cross Country Championships (Slippery Rock University, Slippery Rock, PA) Hannah Lawrence of Western State (21:24 for 6k) wins individually over Marjo Venalainen of Kennesaw State (21:31). Western State narrowly defeats Adams State for the team title, 46 to 55.
NAIA Cross Country Championships (University of Wisconsin - Parkside, Kenosha, WI) Emilie Mondor of Simon Frasier University wins the 5k race in 17:24. Cedarville University takes the team title over Concordia University 147-169.
ECAC Cross Country Championships (Van Cortlandt Park, Bronx, NY) Cynthia Dunham of James Madison (17:50) wins individually and leads her team to the title over Georgetown's 'B' team.

ROAD RACES - NOV. 17-18, 2001
Avon Running 10k (Tampa, FL) Amy Yoder Begley wins in 33:50, defeating Ramilia Burangulova (34:19).
Philadelphia 8k and Marathon (Philadelphia, PA) Svetlana Zakharova (25:37) wins the 8k over Anne Marie Lauck (25:58), Olena Plastinina (2:41:05) wins the marathon.
Davis Turkey Trot 5k (Davis, CA) Midori Sperandeo (16:38) over 16-year-old Rachel Bryan (17:29).
Race to Deliver (Central Park, New York, NY) Gordon Bakoulis, 40, wins in 22:00 on the 4-mile course.
Montgomery Marathon in the Parks (Montgomery County, MD) Elvira Kolpakova wins in 2:54:36, overtaking Tammy Slusser (2:55:39).

NCAA Division I Cross Country Regionals:

All Results | Brown, Cornell, Yale, Columbia, Boston University, Dartmouth, Marquette, Virginia, Norther Arizona, Colorado State, Arizona State, Washington, UCLA all get at-large bids.
South Regional - Renee Metivier (20:20) leads Georgia Tech to a win.
Southeastern Regional (Furman University) Shalane Flanagan of UNC (20:26) and NC State win.
South Central Regional - Andreina Byrd (20:45) leads her Arkansas team to a win.
Great Lakes Regional - Bethany Brewster of Wisconsin (20:41) and Michigan State win.
Middle Atlantic Regional - Marni Kruppa (20:34) leads a Georgetown sweep of the top four places as they win with 22 points.
Northeast Regional (Franklin Park, Boston, MA) (Photos by Tim Longacre) Maggie Guiney (20:29) leads Boston College to a win. Northeast Regional Coaches' Race (Franklin Park, Boston, MA) Emily Tallen (18:08) of Providence is the best of the rest.
Midwest Regional (Carbondale, IL) Siri Alfheim (20:31) leads Oklahoma State to a win.
Mountain Regional (Provo, UT) Jodie Hughes of Colorado (21:13) and BYU win.
West Regional (Tuscon, AZ) Tara Chaplin of Arizona (20:40) and Stanford win.
NCAA Division III Cross Country Regionals:
All Results | All Qualifiers
New England Region (Westfield, MA) Julia Bensen (Williams, 17:24) and Middlebury win. Williams, Amherst and Brandeis also qualify for nationals.
Atlantic Region - Maggie Hanson (Hamilton, 18:11), Ithaca win. Hamilton, College of New Jersey, Geneseo State and Cortland State also headed to nationals.
Central Region (Grinnell, IA) Johanna Olson (Luther, 17:33), Wartburg win. Nebraska Wesleyan, Luther and St. Olaf also going to nationals.
Great Lakes Region - Lisa Nicholson (Anderson College, 17:54) and Calvin College win, Baldwin-Wallace and Mount Union also qualify.
Mideast Region - Heidi Wolfsberger (17:52) and Moravian win. Dickinson also qualifies.
Midwest Region - Kathleen Brice of Elmhurst (17:45) and Wisconsin-LaCrosse win. Wisconsin-Oshkosh, Washington (Missouri) and Wisconsin-Stevens Point also qualify.
South Region (Clinton, MS) Sarah Bryd (18:06) leads Emory to a win. No other teams qualify.
West Region (Salem, OR) Dana Boyle of Puget Sound (17:21) and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps win. No other teams qualify for nationals.

Oregon/Washington BorderClash III (Beaverton, OR) Washington's Jessie McLaughlin wins in 15:14 on the 4.2k course. Washinton defeats Oregon.
Eastern Massachusetts Cross Country Championships (Franklin Park) Natasha Roetter wins the Division I race in 17:27.
New England High School XC Championships (Warwick, RI) Meghan Owen (17:37) over Liz Gesel (17:38) and Catherine Bryson (17:45).
NEPSTA Division III Cross Country Championships (Middlesex School, Concord, MA) Caroline Bierbaum of the Groton School wins in 17:07 for 5k.
NEPSTA Division I Cross Country Championships (Phillips Academy, Andover, MA) Melissa Donais wins in 18:00.
NEPSTA Division II Cross Country Championships (West Hartford, CT) Lesley Clunie of Governor Dummer wins (18:40).
UHSTCA Invitational - Pre-Foot Locker West meet (American Fork High School, UT) Laura Zeigle (16:28) over Jackie Zeigle (16:38) for 2.75 miles.

Ntelos 8k (Richmond, VA) Former Villanova star Carol Zajac-Tynan wins by nearly a minute in 26:16. Grace Njoki is second in 27:11.
Vestcor Mandarin 10k (Jacksonville, FL) Ramilya Burangulova wins in 33:27.
New Times 10k (Tempe, AZ) Teresa Wanjiku (33:25) over Elena Paramonova (33:33).
Clarksburg Country Run 30k (Clarksburg, CA) Magdalena Lewy wins in 1:51:00.
Old Reliable Run 10k (Raleigh, NC) Jackie Brooks (36:31) over Yolanda Flamino (36:44).
Indianapolis Colts Stampede 5-Miler (Indianapolis, IN) Lucie Mays wins in 28:21.
Bruce Ellis 5k Road Race (Exeter, NH) Cathy O'Brien wins in 17:55.
Great Osprey Ocean Run 10k (Freeport, ME) One week after running the NYC Marathon, Joan Samuelson wins the women's division of this race in 38:39.

New York City Marathon (Staten Island to Manhattan) Margaret Okayo wins in course record time (2:24:21). Deena Drossin (2:26:59, 7th overall) wins the USA Championships.
Food World Senior Bowl Charity Run 10k (Mobile, AL) Elva Dryer wins a national title (32:43) over Anne Marie Lauck (32:56) and Jen Rhines (33:15).
