Crim 10-Miler - (August 25, Flint, MI) Catherine Ndereba (52:36) and Laban Kipkemboi (46:41) win. (Prize money winners)
Chris Thater Memorial 5k - (August 26, Binghamton, NY) Sammy Ngeno (13:28) and Ann Marie Lauck (16:11) win. 16-year-old Molly Huddle runs 16:45!
Annapolis 10-Miler - Chris Chattin (54:54) and Elizabeth Scanlon (1:00:32) win.
Showcase 5-Miler - (August 25, N. Reading, MA) Matt Kerr (24:30) and Veronica Kanga (29:31) win.

Weekend of August 24-26 -- The Track
Van Damme Memorial - (August 24, Brussels, Belgium) Stephanie Graf (1:57.46) wins the 800m, followed by Kelly Holmes (1:57.90) and Maria Mutola (1:57.95). Violeta Szekely takes the 1,500 (3:59.75), and Olga Yegorova takes the 3,000m (8:30.09) ahead of teammate Tatyana Tomashova (8:30.56). Sarah Schwald finishes 7th in the 1,500 with yet another PR (4:04.43), Suzy Favor Hamilton DNFs.

Weekend of August 17-19 -- The Roads
Parkersburg Half Marathon - (August 18, Parkersburg, WV) Dan Browne (1:03:55) and Milena Glusac (1:12:13) win National titles.
America's Finest City Half Marathon - (August 19, San Diego, CA) Margaret Okayo sets a new course record (1:10:37) in winning, Wilson Onsare wins by two seconds in 1:02:45.
NYRRC Club Championships - (August 18, New York, NY) Kim McGreevy (27:19) over Jeanne Hennessey (27:23) and Paul Mwangi (23:55) over Brian Clas (24:10).
Liberty Bank Clinton Bluefish 5k - (August 18, Clinton, CT) Marie Davenport wins in 16:57, Kerry Arsenault is 2nd (17:28) and Heather Gardiner 3rd (17:46). The men's race is won by George Luke in 15:19.
Montague Mug Race - (August 18, Montague, MA) Sarah Hann (31:40) and Erik Nedeau (29:13) win.
Pine Barren Festival 5k - (August 18, Tabernacle, NJ) Jesse Mizzone, age 16, is the first woman in 17:33, barely a minute behind men's winner Daniel Deichert (16:30), another 16 year old.
Gazebo 5k - (August 18, Knoxville, TN) Women go 1-2 in this co-ed 5k.

Linz IAAF Grand Prix II - (August 20, Linz, Austria) Stephanie Graf wins the 800 (1:58.86), Ebru Kavaklioglu (8:52.50) wins the flat 3,000m. Isaac Songok (3:54.56) wins mile over Bryan Berryhill (3:54.87). Julius Nyamu (8:18.21) wins steeple, Robert Gary is 10th (8:38.90).
Zurich Weltklasse - (August 17, Zurich, Switzerland) Maria de Lourdes Mutola wins 800m in 1:56.85 with Kelly Holmes in 2nd (1:57.88) and Graf in 3rd (1:57.98), Violeta Szekely wins 1,500m in 3:59.94, Gorelova 2nd in 4:00.53. Sarah Schwald runs a PR (4:05.57) for 9th. Olga Yegorova wins the 3k over Gabriela Szabo, 8:23.26 to 8:24.19.

World Championships (August 3-12, Edmonton, Alberta)

Week of August 10-16 -- The Roads
Falmouth Road Race - (August 12, Falmouth, MA) John Korir (32:26 for 7.1 miles) over Shadrack Hoff (32:27). Dan Browne is first American in 12th (33:08), Lornah Kiplagat outruns Catherine Ndereba by eight seconds with her 36:26.
Chronicle Classic 5-Miler - (August 12, Palo Alto, CA) David Cullum (23:12) over Jamey Harris (23:40) and Sarah Raitter takes the women's race (27:11) over Katy Spink (27:21). 13-year-old Bria Wetsch runs 28:03.
State Street Mile - (Rockford, IL) Priscilla Hein wins in 4:35, Maria Cicero wins the battle of the high schoolers over Erika Odlaug, 4:48 to 4:50. Julius Mwangi wins the men's race in 3:57.9.
George Sheehan 5-Mile Classic - (August 11, Red Bank, NJ) Gabriel Mucher (23:29) wins, Robert Johnson (25:26) is first U.S. finisher, one second ahead of twin brother Weldon. Grace Njoki (28:25) wins women's race.
Kemper Chicago 10k - (Chicago, IL) Silah Misoi wins in 29:35, Dan Mayer is first American in 3rd (30:13). Mary Knisely, 42, wins women's race in 35:07.
Avon Twin Cities 10k - Janet Robertz (34:56) over Kris Ihle (35:21) and JoAnna Deeter (36:15).
Georgetown to Idaho Springs Half Marathon - (August 11, Georgetown, CO) Jane Welzel (1:22:48) and Shannon Butler (1:10:47) win
Tour de Pain Mile Sizzler - (Jacksonville, FL - 8/11) Kim Pawelek wins again in 5:08.
LIRRC Summer Series 5k - (East Meadow, NY - 8/15) Boston College sophomore Danielle Jelley shows she's fit by winning in 17:54.
Tour de Pain Four-Mile Beach Run - (Jacksonville, FL - 8/10) Kim Pawelek wins easily in 23:55.
Lamprey Health Care 5k - (Newmarket, NH) Cathy O'Brien wins in 17:35.
Bridge of Flowers 10k - (Shelburne Falls, MA) Wilson Onsare (30:33) and Ludmila Ilina (36:54) win this race which features a massive hill.

Beach to Beacon 10k (Cape Elizabeth, ME)
Manhattan Half Marathon - (New York, NY) Ryan Grote (1:08:37) and Leteyesus Berhe (1:18:58) win.
