Ro-Jack's 5-Mile Run (Attleboro, MA) Jane Ngotho wins in 25:56.
The Great Race 10k (Pittsburgh, PA) Gladys Asibo (32:10) over Naomi Wangui (32:18).
Syracuse Festival of Races 5000 (Syracuse, NY) Grace Njoki (16:11) over Maggie Chan-Roper (16:27).
Heritage Oaks Bank 10k (Paso Robles, CA) Kristin Schwartz wins in 33:43, Magdalena Lewy is 2nd in 33:52.
Terry Fox 5k Run (Philadelphia, PA) Carmen Douma wins in 16:37.
Eliot Festival Days 5k (Eliot, ME) Christine Reaser (17:15) over Cathy O'Brien (17:17).
BB&T Virginia 10-Miler (Lynchburg, VA) Unofficially, Tara Pointin wins in 1:00:09.
Run for the Grapes 10-Miler (St. Catharine's, Ontario, Canada) Lyudmila Kortchaguina wins in 1:01:31.
Liberty Waterfront Half Marathon (Jersey City, NJ) Madelyn Noe-Schlentz, 40, wins in 1:20:36.
Bigelow Tea Community Challenge 5k (Southport, CT) Amy Fredericks wins in 17:57.
Southington Apple Harvest 5M (Southington, CT) Heather Gardiner wins in 29:06.
Autumn Run 5k (Altamonte Springs, FL) Bea Marie Altieri wins in 18:01.
RRCA Women's Distance Festival 5k (Gainesville, FL) Beth Godwin wins in 18:32.

CROSS COUNTRY RESULTS - SEPT. 28-30, 2001
Stanford Invitational (Palo Alto, CA) Arkansas' Andreina Byrd (20:49) wins the 6k race over Stanford's Lauren Fleshman (20:55) but Stanford puts five (including the last three Foot Locker XC Champions) in the top eight to win the team race. Freshman Alicia Craig runs impressively to win the 4k race (12:40).
Iona Meet of Champions (Van Cortlandt Park, Bronx, NY) Boston College grabs three of the top four spots (led by Cate Guiney in an impressive 20:05 for 6k) to dominate the team race. BU is 2nd, followed by Cornell and Yale.
Roy Griak Invitational (St. Paul, MN) Arizona State takes the team title over Providence. Washington's Sabrina Monro (20:12, 6k) wins individually, Lisa Aguilera (20:34) of AZ State is second. In the maroon 5k, Jessican Neva (1st, 18:08) leads her North Dakota team to a win.
Carolina Challenge (PDF) (Chapel Hill, NC) Shalane Flanagan (1st, 17:20), Carol Henry (2nd, 17:20) and Erin Donohue (3rd, 17:33) lead a UNC win over the UNC alumni.
Cowboy Jamboree (Stillwater, OK) Georgetown wins the team race, Amy Mortimer (17:20) wins individually for Kansas State.
Auburn XC Invitational (Auburn, AL) Victoria Gill of Flordia State wins (16:18) and Baylor takes the team win.
Lakefront Invitational (Loyola University, Chicago, IL) Jennifer Feenstra of Georgia State wins by almost a minute in 16:59, Grand Valley State wins the team race.
Brissman Lundden Invitational (Highland Springs Golf Course, Rock Island, IL) Calvin wins the team race, Dana Boyle wins individually (17:25) over Johanna Olson (17:33).
Indiana State Invitational (Terre Haute, IN) Ida Nilsson (1st, 21:01), running for Northern Arizona, leads her team to the win. Priscilla Hein of the Indiana Invaders (21:05) takes 2nd.
Texas Collegiate Invitational (Austin, TX) Emily Field of Texas wins by 59 seconds (17:30) as Texas edges out Rice by one point.
Canyon West XC Classic (Tempe, AZ) Fanice Chepkorir of Central Arizona College wins in 17:44. Arizona State's 'B' team wins the team race.
Cal Poly Pomona XC Invitational (Prado Park, Chino, CA) Kristin Harper of Track West wins the 6k race in 22:15.
Tufts Invitational (Grafton, MA) Emily Korot of Middlebury (1st, 18:05) lead her team to a win over rival Williams College.
Dickinson College XC Invitational (Carlisle, PA) Maura Danahy of Connecticut College wins the 6k race in 22:06, Dickinson's Alexandra Forte wins the 4k race.
La Salle Invitational Abigale Gleeson of Penn wins in 18:22, La Salle wins the team race.

Greensboro XC Invitational (Hagan Stone Park, Greensboro, NC) Julia Lucas of Myers Park wins in 17:52.
Stanford Invitational High School Races (Palo Alto, CA) Julie Allen of Corona Del Mar runs the fastest time of the day (18:06) to win the division III race.
Roy Griak Invitational High School 5k (St. Paul, MN) Shannon Bergstedt (1st, 18:24) leads her Hopkins team to victory.

CROSS COUNTRY RESULTS - SEPT. 21-23, 2001
Sundodger Invitational (PDF) - Washington transfer and last year's NCAA XC runner-up Sabrina Monro dominates, running 16:06 and leads Washington to the team victory over UCLA. Dana Boyle wins the open race in 17:13 with Northwest College taking the team title.
Great American XC Festival (Rock Hill, SC) BYU's Tara Northcutt wins in 16:56 over UNC (and Canada's) freshman Carol Henry (17:03). Kristin Price (3rd, 17:14) - a transfer from Virginia Tech - leads an underrated NC State team to a win over BYU.
William & Mary Invitational (Williamsburg, VA) Virginia senior Jennifer Owen (1st, 17:17) leads her team to a win.
Baylor XC Invitational (Waco, TX) TCU's Gladys Keitany wins in 17:22, Baylor, led by Kara Newton (3rd, 17:39) wins the team race.
Illini Invitational - Northwestern's Rachel Evjen (17:22) over Illinois State's Stacia Beste (17:23), Wichita State wins the team race.
National Catholic XC Invitational (South Bend, IN) - Jennifer Handley of Notre Dame wins in 17:31, but Marquette takes the team title.
Central Connecticut XC Invitational (PDF) - Princeton's Emily Kroshus (17:43) over Vermont's Michelle Palmer (17:44). Princeton (39) wins team title over Rhode Island (42).
Florida Intercollegiate XC Championships - South Florida beats Florida State 38 to 41. Vicky Gill (unattached, 20:46) wins the 6k race, South Florida's Tara Quinn (21:25) is the first collegian.
Spartan Invitational (at Michigan State) Ann Somerville (17:43) and Michelle Carson (17:50) go 1-2 for Michigan State in this non-team-scoring meet.
Aggie Open (at UC Davis) - Melanie Cleland of the Adidas Transport wins in 17:49, UC Davis wins the team title.
Riverside Cross Country Invitational - Kareen Nilsson wins in 17:46, UC Irvine wins the team race.
Miami Fall Classic (Oxford, OH) Andrea Kremer (1st, 21:33 for 6k) leads her Miami team to a win over Pittsburgh.
Commodore XC Classic (Vanderbilt University, Knoxville, TN) Tennessee's Sharon Dickie wins in 18:05, Western Kentucky wins the team title.
Mount Saint Mary's XC Invitational - Georgetown, led by Jill Laurendeau (1st, 18:15) sweeps the race.
Monmouth Invitational (Middletown, NJ) St. Peter's Katie Kopacz (18:21) gets an indivudual win over Penn State freshman Michelle Wale (18:26) and Cornell narrowly defeats Penn State, 40 to 43.
University of Montana XC Invitational (PDF) - Emily Nay (unattached, 21:55 for 6k) wins. Montana over Montana State, 40 to 41.
NYU Invitational (Van Cortlandt Park, NY) Heidi Wolfsberger (18:19) and her Moravian team win.
Simpson College Buxton Open XC Meet - Kelly Brinkman (Unattached, 18:24) over Drake's Tracey Bearden (18:45), teams not scored.
Codfish Bowl (Franklin Park, Boston, MA) - Mariko Holbrook (Brandeis, 18:29) wins, as does Amherst College.
Kachina Classic (at New Mexico State) New Mexico State's Rachael Cuellar wins in 18:45, Texas Tech takes the team title.
HIGH SCHOOL
Great American XC Festival (Rock Hill, SC) Alison Tubbs of Enumclaw, WA dominates the girls' race of champions, winning in 16:54, faster than Tara Northcutt's winning collegiate time the previous evening. Valerie Lauver is 2nd in 17:48, Megan Kaltenbach fades in the heat to 27th. Saratoga Springs, NY takes the team title.
Seminole Cross Country High School Invitational (Tallahassee, FL) - Zita Magloire wins the 3-mile race in 18:07.

Home Depot Governor's Cup 10k (Colorado) Mizuki Oguchi wins in 32:56.
Ben Franklin Bridge Challenge 4-Miler (New Jersey) Grace Njoki (22:10) over Lucy Njeri (22:36), Carmen Douma (22:41) and Kate Fonshell (23:39).
Washington, D.C. area races - Paul VI Runfest 5k - Eliud Barngetony (14:42) and Carole Zajac-Tynan (17:16) win, Zack's Run 5k - Sergei Fedetov (14:52) and Elena Paramorova (16:55) win, Kensington 8k - Chris Banks (25:42) and Patty Fulton (29:15) win.
Smithfield Lions 5k (Smithfield, RI) Sarah Dupre wins in 17:00.
Falling Leaves 5k - RRCA National Championship (Utica, NY) Lori Hewig, 41, wins in 17:05.

CVS Pharmacy Downtown 5k (Providence, RI) Uta Pippig (15:30) over Lyudmila Petrova (15:40).
Dick Lugar 5k (Indianapolis, IN) Collette Liss (15:51) wins.
Dick Lugar 10k (Indianapolis, IN) - Lucie Mays (36:30) wins.
Jamba Juice 5k Banana Man Chase (San Francisco, CA) Linn Schulte-Sasse (17:17) over Monal Chokshi (17:33)

Boston University Collegiate Invitational (Boston, MA) - Vermont's Michelle Palmer wins the individual title but Boston University sweeps the next five spots for the team title

Continental Airlines Broadway on Broadway 5k (New York, NY) Gordon Bakoulis, 40, outruns Kim Griffin, 39, 16:56 to 16:59.
