Kimberly Hager, 32, of The Woodlands, Texas, finished 76th in 2:54:16.
Hager qualified for the Trials by running 2:47:30 at the 2004 hp Houston Marathon.
Like several other athletes in the race, she only had a short time to recover.
Kari Bertrand, 33, of Gilroy, California, another one of the late qualifiers...

...in January by winning the Las Vegas Marathon in 2:45:46.
Bertrand, a graduate of Georgetown, works as an OBGYN.
Meghan McLaughlin, 25, of Vienna, Virginia, finished 78th in 2:54:45. A graduate of Radford...
...she qualified for the Trials by running 2:46:52 at the 2003 Philadelphia Marathon.
Hallie Janssen, 28, of Portland, Oregon, finished 79th in 2:55:02.
Janssen qualified by running 2:46:48 at the Motorola Marathon in February.
Patty Murray, 38, of Boulder, Colorado, finished 80th in 2:55:42.
Murray, a graduate of Western Illinois University...
...qualified for the Trials by running 2:44:27...
...at the 2002 Grandma's Marathon.
Murray is a frequent road race winner in the Boulder area.
Julia Stamps, 25, of New York City finished 81st in 2:55:48.
