weeks earlier, Amy Yoder-Begley returns to Hayward
Field (in her new Asics uniform) and runs 15:54.74
for 11th.

Wesleyan University standout and now an assistant
coach at Amherst College, Sarah Hann runs in her first
track nationals here, finishing 18th in 16:18.81.

Everyone,
including Marla Runyan, knew that if she was going
to prevent Regina Jacobs from pulling off the triple
here, she'd have to run away from her and get out
of Regina's striking zone when it came to the final
sprint. Runyan, who lives in Eugene and was a crowd
favorite, executed her plan well, winning in 15:08.03.
