Julia Lucas (4:32.82), Laura Zeigle (4:34.42) and Catherine Bryson (4:34.95) advanced on time.
Anna Farias-Eisner of Harvard-Westlake (CA) did not advance to the final.
Ashley Patten leads the first junior 800m prelim.
L-R: Ty-Nica Davis (1st, 2:10.62), Monica Cuevas, Leslie Treherne (3rd, 2:11.18) and Ashley Patten (2nd, 2:10.66).
The winner of each heat plus the runners with the next six fastest times would advance to the final. Davis, Treherne and Patten advanced from the first prelim.

To qualify as a "junior" a runner must be at least 14 but not turn 20 or older in 2003.
R-L: Nickoley, Leinert and McMahon with one lap to go.
Leinert won in 2:09.35 to advance automatically.
Nickoley (2:09.53) and Georgeanne Way (2:10.13) advanced on time.
Georgetown freshman Whitney Schmucker finished sixth in 2:13.41.
Way (left) and Leinert both advanced to the final.
Nickoley won Kansas state titles this year in the 400, 800 and 1,600.

Lavera Morris leads Jenna Timinsky and Jamillah Titus.
UCLA freshman Timinsky won in 2:09.32 to automatically advance, Lavera Morris (2nd, 2:10.08) advanced on time.
Meghan O'Neil of Georgetown (2:10.73) also advanced on time, Lauren Lewis (5th, 2:11.79) did not advance.
