MEN'S PHOTOS

Lyubov Denisova of Russia ran in fifth place in the 20th mile but...
...finished sixth in 2:31:17.
Nuta Olaru of Romania ran in sixth place in the 20th mile...
...but moved up to fifth place (2:30:44) by the finish.
Olaru, 33, set her 2:25:18 PR at the 2001 Flora London Marathon.
Olaru finished 11th in the marathon at the 2003 Paris World Championships.
Olaru trains in Romania and Colorado.
Many of the families of Newton lined the course, giving the race a parade-like atmosphere.
Malgorzata Sobanska of Poland finished seventh in 2:32:23.
Sobanska finished second at the 2001 Boston Marathon behind Catherine Ndereba.
Sobanska has been running marathons for 13 years and has two daughters.
Victoria Klimina, 28, of Russia finished eighth in 2:33:20.
Klimina has a PR of 2:28:30 from the 2002 Ocean State Marathon.
She holds a road 10K PR of 31:05.
Ai Yamamoto, 25, of Japan ran in ninth place in the 20th mile...
...but finished 10th in 2:34:32.
Ramilia Burangulova, 42, of Russia and Gainesville, Florida...
...was the top masters finisher and ninth overall (2:34:08).
Burangulova is impressive not only for her speed at 42...
...but also for the high volume of races she runs each year.
