  • November: Sandi Ledingham presents "Paradise Memoirs"
This show feature new works by Prince Albert ceramic artist, Sandra Ledingham. The body of work draws upon reflections of paradise travels both geographically as well as voyages of the mind. The work references boats both in a concrete and metaphoric sense as well as architecteonic forms which carry a reference of sanctuary for Sandra, spaces which if in the right context can transport the body and soul into serene and intimate places. Sandra helped found the S.I.A.S.T. Woodlands Campus ceramics program and has had an extensive career in clay both in her studio practice as well as mentoring and teaching many of Saskatchewan’s ceramists. Ledingham has studied both in Canada and France.

  • Until October 12: Real Fabrications by Rae Bridgman, Shona Dietz, Suzanne Evans, Mike Hanson, Jeannie Kamins, Laura Kinzel, Peggy Kerr, Mike MacDonald, Alison Norbert, Kristin Pauch, Renee Sims, and Marilyn Stewart Stothers
    Curated by Ulrike Veith
Opening Reception: Friday, Sept. 15 – 8:30 pm after the Annual General Meeting
Historically quilts and quilting practices are based in domestic and communal settings, where quilts were and are produced for comfort, warmth, domestic adornment and as heirlooms. This exhibition features quilt based pieces by contemporary artists. In some pieces the traditional techniques and materials are used but other artists subvert the technical conventions by inserting new materials into their quilting practices. The strong links to the domestic setting inherent in the medium lead artists to develop juxtapositions that put quilting into unusual contexts and to raise issues relevant to contemporary art practices.

  • October 17–November 30: Aerial Photography
Group Exhibition includes: H. D. Howdy McPhail, Joe Fafard, Michael Maranda, Darlene Kalynka and Shelley Sopher
    Curated by Helen Marzolf,
Organized by the Dunlop Art Gallery and toured by the Mendel Art Gallery
Opening Reception and Artist Talk by Shelley Sopher Friday, Oct. 17 – 7:00 pm
“Nearly every rural home across Canada features at least one aerial photograph of the farmstead, and frequently multiple images, taken at intervals, representing a complex bundle of fact and emotion that defines the “home place”. Despite their place as an iconic staple of rural culture, these photographs form a vast unexamined archive.” Marzolf
The installation has several components, historical photographs by Howdy McPhail of the North Battlefords area, vertical aerial photographs associated with mapping as well as works of several contemporary artists Shelley Sopher, Joe Fafard, Michael Maranda and Darlene Kalynka.
