The start of the women's 8k race. Less than 400 meters in, Deena Drossin already leads.

Sarah Toland and #122 Jackie Rzepecki.
#226 Jennifer Ledford and #185 Jennifer Michel.

At the top of the hill, the course looped around a fountain before heading back to the start/finish area.
Drossin had already taken control of the race by this point and looked like she would dominate.
In the same way that Drossin took control of the lead, Colleen De Reuck took control of second place.
Drossin and De Reuck went 2-3 at last year's World Cross Country Championships.
The top six runners here would qualify for Worlds. Last year's women's 8k team won the silver medal.
Jen Rhines, Katie McGregor and Shayne Culpepper run 3-4-5.
Rhines was part of last year's silver medal team at the World Championships.
Blake Russell leads Ann Marie Brooks.
Brooks leads Rachel Sauder.
Sara Wells and Cassandra Henkiel lead Dana Coons.
Coons leads #817 Katherine Newberry and #102 Jenny Crain.
