Coming off the first turn of the elite 800m, Lauren Simmons...
...a designated pacesetter, leads Chantee Earl (left).
L-R: Yasheka Taylor, Vicky Fleshner and Paula McLaughlin.
Simmons paced Earl for about 600 meters (1:29.7) before dropping out.
Once Simmons dropped out, Earl was on her own, well ahead of the field.
Earl won the race in 2:01.49.
Mishael Bertrand (2nd, 2:03.44) leads Hope Sanders (2:03.48).
McLaughlin of the University of Toronto finished seventh in 2:07.85.
Carrie Tollefson (left) and Marie Davenport lead on the first lap of the 3,000m.
Though the hot and humid weather was bearable for the shorter races...
...it was far from optimal for racing anything over a mile.

McGregor (leading) recently finished third in the 10,000m at the USA Championships.
Team USA Minnesota teammates Tollefson and McGregor lead.
The leaders passed through the first kilometer in 3:04.8.
The leaders passed through the first 1,600m in 4:55.2.
Amber Klein, a DII National Champion for Adams State.
Nicole Jefferson and Tollefson lead near the end of lap five.
The leaders passed through 2k in 6:07.7.
On the sixth lap, Breeda Willis and Marie Davenport, both of Ireland, take over the lead.
