Jessica Hanlin, a junior at North Hagerstown (MD) High School.
Ari Lambie holds a comfortable lead over Nicole Blood with about 600 meters to go.
Lambie attends the same high school (Bromfield in MA) that three-time World Cross Country Champion Lynn Jennings attended.
Lambie has gone undefeated this season, winning the Brown Invitational and the Massachusetts DII State Meet.
Lambie, a senior, will attend Stanford next fall and become a part of their great distance running tradition.
Lambie won the race in 17:33.38 and will be one of the leading contenders heading into the National Finals..
Nicole Blood, a freshman from Saratoga Springs (NY) High School finished second in 17:47.63.
Blood was one of the top runners in the Northeast last year as well, but was unable to compete in the regional because she was too young.
In 1993, Saratoga Springs freshman Erin Davis became the youngest runner to win the Foot Locker national title. Blood will try to follow in her footsteps.
Katy Trotter of Little Silver, NJ finished third in 17:55.57. This was her first year of running cross country seriously.
Trotter, and her twin sister Amanda will join Ari Lambie at Stanford next fall.
Caitlin McTague, a junior from Niskayuna, NY, finished sixth in 18:11.38.
