Angela Bizzarri, a sophomore from Cincinnati, Ohio.
Two-time finalist Nikki Bohnsack of Rockford, Michigan.
It was a fast year in the Midwest, Megan Kaltenbach's 2002 winning time of 18:09 would have finished 13th here.
This year, the younger Kaltenbach, Katelyn, won in 17:29 by kicking away in the last 400 meters.
Ramsey Kavan's runner-up finish (17:34) was one of the biggest surprises of the day.
Sunni Olding finished third in 17:35.
Racheal Marchand finished fourth in 17:43.
Katie Harrington of Indiana and Morgan Schulz of Colorado battled for fifth.
Harrington finished sixth (17:51) to earn her second-straight trip to nationals.
Schulz, Kaltenbach's Smoky Hill HS teammate, earned her first trip (5th, 17:51).
Alissa McKaig finished seventh in 17:52 and will make her first trip to Nationals...
...as will Amber Warren of St. Charles, Missouri (8th, 17:53).
Amber Smith (left, 10th, 17:57) and Jenny Morgan (9th, 17:56) barely missed qualifying.
Angela Bizzarri of Ohio finished 13th in 18:10.
Nikki Bohnsack wound up in 42nd in 18:55.
Katelyn Kaltenbach demonstrated that she will be a strong contender for a national title in San Diego.
Past Midwest champions Erika Odlaug (left, now at Colorado) and Megan Kaltenbach (now at UNC).
Ramsey Kavan braved the cold with a sleeveless shirt. Kavan finished 34th here a year ago.
Racheal Marchand went from fourth in the Indiana State meet to fourth in the Midwest.
Like her teammate Kaltenbach, Morgan Schulz put in a strong kick to move up at the end.
Katie Harrington has been improving with each race after coming back from knee surgery.
Indiana state champion Alissa McKaig moved up 20 places this year to qualify for Nationals.
Amber Warren held on to the eighth and final qualifying spot.
Clockwise from top left: Racheal Marchand, Sunni Olding, Ramsey Kavan, Katelyn Kaltenbach, Morgan Schulz, Katie Harrington, Alissa McKaig and Amber Warren.
