Ohio's Sunni Olding has been generating a lot of publicity for her running accomplishments this year.
Amber Smith of Michigan, fifth at last year's nationals, claimed her fourth-straight Upper Peninsula DII state title this season.
Nikki Bohnsack was bothered by a sprained abdominal muscle this season but finished eighth at the Michigan State meet.
Bohnsack, a two-time Foot Locker finalist, recently signed with Penn State.
Katelyn Kaltenbach, a junior from Aurora, Colorado, finished fifth in the Midwest and seventh at Nationals a year ago.
Katelyn's sister Megan, now a freshman at UNC, won the Midwest title a year ago.
Indiana's Katie Harrington had a slow start to the season after having knee surgery in the summer.
The seeded race had 404 finishers and the temperature at race time was reported as 24 degrees.

Amber Smith finished second in this race and fifth at nationals a year ago. She was looking to qualify for a third-straight year.

Morgan, a sophomore from Ohio, led the race just before the mile mark, but she eventually wound up a heart-breaking ninth.

Olding, a senior who has already signed with Notre Dame, finished tenth at Foot Locker Nationals a year ago.
Jenny Morgan had collapsed at the Ohio State meet, suffering from an upper respiratory infection.
