Lauren King and Lorena Adams battled on the last lap...
...with Georgetown's Adams getting a slight edge to win in 4:20.91.
King finished second in 4:21.10.
Both runners (plus the next two finishers) earned NCAA provisional qualifying times.
Rebecca Mitchell won the battle for third (4:23.01).
Emily Enstice (4th, 4:23.60) congratulates Adams.
King, a freshman from Toronto, will have several more chances to win Big East titles in the next three years.
Seton Hall's Leah Grant leads Georgetown's Tyrona Heath in the first of three 800 meter preliminaries.
West Virginia freshman Jennifer Kemp leads Boston College freshman Melissa Sherman.
Sherman leads Rutgers freshman Dominique Sanon and Virginia Tech senior Dayna Friedman.
With 200 meters to go, it's Leah Grant and Pittsburgh's Elizabeth Rocks.
Rocks finished third (2:09.93) and did not advance, while Heath won in 2:08.74.
Jennifer Kemp ran 2:10.02 and did not advance to the final.
Melissa Sherman finished in 2:16.74.
