Stephen's Trip to Penticton (BC) for IronMan 2002 - (Part 3)
Sound track: Stravinsky, Symphony of Psalms, 3rd Movement
News from the Serenelli's Gipsy Caravan (Mobile Office)...
Today the first thing for me was to
check-in my bike.
Please note the handle bar bag... that is my old
touring spirit coming back to the surface... ;-)
Yes, yes, I will wear the helmet... I have no choice.
Its hard to describe what 2,000+ bikes look like.
I am not worried about tomorrow as most would be
gone by the time I finish my slow swim...
Next you have to hang your gear...
This is my bike staff.
My bags look way bigger then anybody else...
I guess I am not that good at travelling light ;-)
Before you ask... there is no laptop in the bag ;-)
This is my running gear
I hope I live long enough to see this bag... ;-)
The rest of the day was dedicated to read and nap...
At the end of the afternoon all athletes
supporters and volunteers were together
for the ritual of the parade on Main St.
There was a good participation...
Including an athlete from Italy... :-)
As well as many local Athletes... ;-)
Not forgetting some good sense of humour... ;-)
...and tomorrow another athlete name will be part
of a sidewalk in Penticton park... just like they
do for Hollywood stars...
You can follow the race online on Sunday at:
www.ironman.ca
I am now ready for an early night...
the rest will be history !!! ;-)
bye for now
Stephen :-)
