The Prince Albert and District Gay and Lesbian support group is made of adult men and women who share the commonality of their sexual orientation. The group is as diverse in membership as are each of our lives.
Lambda North established in 1994 is composed of men and women interested in providing support to other gays and lesbians in Prince Albert and area. The group meets in a formal business meeting setting monthly with an informal program and usually sponsors a social activity each month. These venues enable members to meet, socialize and establish an environment of support. The group also has established contacts with extended support mechanisms which may be accessed to provide more in depth counseling or services if required.
The group maintains its confidentiality in order that members may feel free to participate in the activities of the group without fear or concerns for their personal privacy.
In order to access the group, we suggest you to e-mail or call 1-800-358-1833, Monday to Friday afternoons to 4:30 P.M., or Tuesday to Saturday from 7:30 P.M. to 10:30 P.M.. These calls will be answered by the Gay and Lesbian Health Services in Saskatoon and you will be given the telephone number of a liaison person in Prince Albert. You are then free to call this individual at your desired discretion for more information about the Prince Albert group. We would ask that you respect these indivduals by calling at reasonable hours. A face to face meeting may be scheduled prior to being invited to attend the group's meeting or social functions.
Lambda North is an active organization welcoming new members. It's structure consists off; Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer/Membership and Comittees for Recreation, Ethics, Fund Raising, Telephone and Program.
