The start of the high school girls' 800m.
R-L: Oriana Farley, Maria Millard, Emily Sheffield, Carolyn Quirk, Sarah Peteraf and Gessey LePage.
Farley, of Hampden Academy (ME), won in 2:16.34.
Millard (at left) finished second in 2:18.28 and #169 Sheffield was fourth (2:19.10).
Sarah Peteraf of Hanover (NH) High School finished fifth in 2:20.52.
The start of the high school girls' mile. Chantelle Dron leads.
Cassie Hinz of Old Town High School runs in third.
Dron led from start to finish and dominated the race.
Amanda Bodette of Vermont's Middlebury High School.
Bodette runs second.
Dron, who lives in New Hampshire and is home schooled, won in 4:58.13.
Bodette finished second in 5:19.24.
Hinz finished third in 5:28.48.
The start of the elite women's 800m.
Mary Jayne Harrelson led through 400m in 58.06.
Down the back stretch with just over 200 meters to go, Harrelson continued to lead.
Harrelson looked visibly spent on the second lap.
Chantee Earl took over the lead by 600 meters, passing through in 1:29.3.
Earl finished in 2:00.26, a new PR and meet record. Harrelson finished second in 2:03.11.
Heather Hennigar (right) finished third in 2:04.74, Jill Snyder (left) finished fourth in 2:07.27.
