The field was a small (79 finishers) but quality one.
Led by the now-graduated O'Neill sisters, Yale finished second in 2002.
The Harvard team.
Columbia was looking for their second-straight title...
...and their closest competition was expected to come from Princeton.
Princeton had been led all season by the 1-2 punch of Emily Kroshus and Cack Ferrell.
Though most collegiate championship races for women are now 6k...
...the women still run the traditional 5k course at Heps.
In the second mile, Emily Kroshus (left) and Cack Ferrell were in control of the race with Caitlin Hickin running third.
