Runners circle the start/finish area at Van Cortlandt Park before heading into the woods for the 5k loop.
The team race featured a showdown between Yale and Cornell, both nationally ranked.
Leading the way at the finish was Yale's Kate O'Neill (17:33).
O'Neill was an All-American last year in cross country, finishing 31st at the NCAA Championships.
Columbia's Caitlin Hickin, a sophomore, finished second in 17:38.
Laura O'Neill (Kate's twin sister) finished 3rd in 17:44.
Lara Niell of Dartmouth (4th, 17:46) and Emily Kroshus of Princeton (5th, 17:51).
After suffering an injury last year as a freshman, Kroshus has come back well in her sophomore year.
Cornell's Kate Boyles, 10th at the Foot Locker HS XC Championships last year, was the top freshman (6th, 17:53).
Amanda Brewster of Yale finished 12th in 18:04.
Catherine Casey of Princeton finished 9th in 17:58.
Lena Matthews of Cornell finished 11th in 18:01.
Jessie Allen-Young of Dartmouth finished 7th in 17:55.
Abigale Gleeson of Penn finished 14th in 18:08.
Carlan Gray of Cornell finished 5th in 18:10.
Kim Thalmann, last year's runner-up, finished 13th in 18:07.
