The start of the University Race of Champions.
Notably absent from the race was #1 ranked BYU.
R-L: Julia Lucas leads Shalane Flanagan and Kristin Price (with Renee Gunning behind Flanagan).
As it turned out, BYU was at the meet but missed this race because of confusion over the scheduled race time.

This race was run on a course that would host the Division II NCAA meet later in the season.
