7,435 runners finished the race. A half hour into the race, the temperature was already 62 degrees.
Deena Drossin pulled away from Elva Dryer in the fifth mile and won the race in 48:14.
Drossin's time beat Francie Larrieu Smith's 48:43 course record and Lisa Weidenbach's 48:28 U.S. record.
Jen Rhines of Team USA California finished third in 49:22.
Rhines (along with Drossin, Dryer and Glusac) will compete for the U.S. team at the World Cross Country Championships in two weeks.
Glusac finished fifth in 49:46, a 5:21 per mile pace.
Glusac is also a member of Team USA California, along with Drossin, Dryer and Rhines.
Ramilya Burangulova was the top master, finishing 8th overall in 51:12.
Kelly Cordell finished 13th among the women in 52:05.
Cordell is based in Mt. Laguna, CA and trains with Fila Discovery USA.
In the men's race, Alan Culpepper, Meb Keflezighi and Abdi Abdirahman ran together in the early stages.
Meb Keflezighi pulled away just before the sixth mile and won in 42:49, the second-fastest U.S. time ever run on this course.
Alan Culpepper ran in the lead pack early on but lost contact for good around five miles.
Culpepper wound up third in 43:33. He gained on Abdirahman (2nd, 43:29) at the end but was unable to catch him.
Tony Cosey finished seventh in 45:05.
Keith Dowling finished ninth in 45:17.
Eddy Hellebuyck, 41, won the masters race in 45:20 and finished 10th overall.
Josh Cox ran with the leaders in the first few miles but dropped back to finish 13th in 45:27.
