Esther Kiplagat finished 10th in 2:38:43.
Gitte Karlshoj, age 43, of Denmark was the second masters finisher...
...and 11th among women in 2:40:52.
Emily LeVan's 12th-place 2:41:37 finish was one of the bigger surprises of the race.
LeVan's previous PR was a 2:47:38, set when she won the 2002 Maine Marathon.
LeVan was one of the only top athletes to set a PR in the warm and windy conditions.
LeVan, a 1995 Bowdoin graduate, only ran one season of track in college, her main sport was field hockey.
Alysun Deckert of Seattle, WA finished 13th in 2:47:19.
Maribel Burgos finished 14th in 2:48:03 with a chip time of 2:47:59, just under the U.S. Olympic Trials qualifying standard.
Cori Mooney of Boise, Idaho finished 15th in 2:48:29 (2:48:19 chip).
Linda Somers-Smith, age 41, finished 16th in 2:49:41.
Somers-Smith finished third among masters women.
Lisa Valentine, age 42, finished 17th in 2:50:42.
Sharon Stubler finished 18th in 2:51:41.
Stubler hails from Minnetonka, Minnesota.
Heather May finished 19th with an offcial time of 2:53:33.
May's chip time was 2:53:05.
Lee De Pietro, age 45, finished 20th in 2:55:00.
Shannon Hovey of West Granby, CT finished 21st in 2:55:57.
