Ireland's Geraldine Hendricken finished off a great track season with a 4:02.08 PR in September, but wasn't running her best here.

Recent Liberty University graduate Heather Sagan (4th, 4:13.91) leads Sarah Hann.
Jacobs looked like she was working hard the whole way...
...but judging by how far ahead of the field she was, it was clear that she might be making history.
Iagar finished second in 4:09.91.
Hann finished eighth in 4:19.02.

Jenelle Deatherage finished third in 4:12.75, Collette Liss finished fifth in 4:15.62.
Jacobs didn't celebrate as she crossed the line...
...she just waited to find out her official time, which turned out to be 3:59.98, a new World Record!
It was Jacobs' first time under the 4:00 barrier, indoors or out.
