Ryan's mile was the fastest by a U.S. high schooler...

Carmen Douma-Hussar leads Kim Smith, who recently finished out her NCAA eligibility at Providence by winning the NCAA XC title.
Berhane Hirpasa of Ethiopia runs in fourth place.
