Favor Hamilton continues to lead...
...and Amy Rudolph runs in second place.
Kristen Nicolini set a PR here (4:20.96) and finished ninth.
800m winner Jen Toomey begins to move up on the outside.
Sally Hauser finished eighth in 4:20.96, just ahead of Nicolini.
Riedy finished 11th in 4:28.25.
Toomey appeared to have her work cut out for her heading into this race...
...but as the race progressed, she looked increasingly strong.
Mary Jayne Harrelson was also doubling back from the 800.
With one lap to go, Toomey had moved into the lead and looked comfortable.
Though her season best was only 4:17 (run at Madison Square Garden)...
...Toomey had an outdoor PR of 4:10.11, set the previous summer.
Toomey, a resident of nearby Salem, also had the Boston crowd on her side.
Favor Hamilton ran in second place with one lap to go...
...and Rudolph ran third.
