BOYS' PHOTOS

The start of the girls' invitational mile.
Amie Schumacher of Holy Cross (CT) High School led early on.
Natalie Scherbak of Kellam High School (VA) ran close behind.
Kellam, a Virginia Tech-bound senior, had taken the lead by the 800m mark.
Schumacher, the 2003 New England Cross Country Champion, ran in second.
Caitlin Lane, formerly of Argyle HS and now representing Saratoga Springs HS (NY) ran in third.
Audrey Hand of Kellam would finish sixth in 5:12.76.
Cameron Vahanian, a sophomore at Saratoga.
Danbury's Liz Calle would finish eighth in 5:18.68.
Scherbak increased her lead and won in 4:56.09. Schumacher wound up third in 5:02.38.
Lane moved up to finish second (5:00.15).
Vahanian finished fifth in 5:11.75.
The start of the first (and presumably fastest) heat of the 800m.
Shantile Blackburn (left) of Bishop Loughlin and Karen Wilson of Herndon led at 400 meters...
...but Samantha Gawrych of Westerly (RI) HS ran a strong second lap to win in 2:15.69.
Wilson finished second in 2:16.88.
Vicki Weismann of Wachusett (MA) HS finished fifth in 2:19.24.
Lindsey Ferguson and Nicole Blood ran together on the first lap of the two-mile...
...but that was all the company Blood would get.
Hannah Davidson, another former Argyle runner now competing for Saratoga.
