Southeastern Regional (Furman University) Shalane Flanagan of UNC (20:26) and NC State win.
South Central Regional - Andreina Byrd (20:45) leads her Arkansas team to a win.
Great Lakes Regional - Bethany Brewster of Wisconsin (20:41) and Michigan State win.
Middle Atlantic Regional - Marni Kruppa (20:34) leads a Georgetown sweep of the top four places as they win with 22 points.

Pac 10 Conference Championships (Scottsdale, AZ) Lauren Fleshman (20:08) and Sara Bei (20:17) go 1-2, leading Stanford to a win over Arizona, 27-64.

Conference USA Championships (Lake Kristi, NC) Gladys Keitany (19:44 for 6k) of TCU wins individually, Marquette takes the team title.
Atlantic Sun Conference Championships (Georgia State University) Heather Lee of Campbell over Jen Feenstra of Georgia State in record time, 17:00 to 17:19. Belmont (32 points) takes the team title. (Story)

Southland Conference Championships (Nacogdoches, TX) Sita Waru of McNeese State wins in 17:20, U of Texas-Arlington wins the team race.
Big Sky Conference Championships (Spokane, WA) Ida Nilsson (17:29) leads Northern Arizona to a sweep of the top three spots and a team win.
America East Conference Championships (Orono, ME) BU's Rachel Felton (17:11) over Vermont's Michelle Palmer (17:16), BU dominates the team race with a team total of 19 points.
Mid American Conference Championships (Ypsilanti, MI) Briana Shook (1st, 17:49) leads Toledo (71) to a win over Ball State (79).
Atlantic 10 Championships (Philadelphia, PA) Former Missouri star Kerry Hils wins individually for Xavier (17:56), LaSalle takes the team title.
New England Alliance Championships (N. Dartmouth, MA) Keene State wins the team title with #1 runner Mary Proulx (17:27) besting the field by 97 seconds.
Southern Conference Championships (Charleston, SC) Gina Recher (17:54 for 5k) leads her Tennessee-Chattanooga team to a win.

Big 12 Conference Championships (Norman, OK) Jorge Torres (23:35) leads a Colorado sweep - Dathan Ritzenhein (24:47) and Ed Torres (24:12) of the top three spots, earning them an easy win. (Photos | Quotes)
Big 10 Championships (Savoy, IL) Alan Webb continues an undefeated season, edging out Matt Tegenkamp 23:19 to 23:23. Wisconsin puts three in the top four and five in the top 13 to win.
Big East Conference Championships (Van Cortlandt Park, Bronx, NY) UConn's Dan Wilson edges out Notre Dame's Luke Watson, both runners are timed in 24:22. Notre Dame (49 points) wins a close team battle over Villanova (52) and Providence (54).
Pac 10 Conference Championships (Scottsdale, AZ) Grant Robison wins (24:04), Stanford puts five in the top 12 to win.

Mid American Conference Championships (Ypsilanti, MI) Boaz Cheboiywo dominates, winning by 61 seconds in 24:11. His Eastern Michigan team totals 30 points to win.
Conference USA Championships (Lake Kristi, NC) Eliud Njubi wins in 23:09 over Solomon Kandie (23:22). Tulane edges out Marquette, 61-63.
SEC Championships (Auburn, AL)
David Kimani of Alabama (23:46) narrowly defeats Alistair Cragg of Arkansas (23:48). Arkansas puts five in the top eight to win the team title.
ACC Championships (Clemson, SC) Nathan Sisco of Wake Forest wins (24:23), NC State defeats Wake Forest 26 to 45.
Mountain West Conference Championships (Albuquerque, NM) Utah's Teren Jameson wins individually (23:54) and BYU (47 points) edges out Air Force (54) in the team race.
Heptagonal Cross Country Championships (Van Cortlandt Park, Bronx, NY) Tom McArdle (24:45) leads his Dartmouth team to a win (76 points) over Navy (93) and Princeton (97).
New England Alliance Championships (N. Dartmouth, MA) Led by Mark Miller (24:00), Keene State sweeps the top four spots to win.

CROSS COUNTRY - OCT. 12-14, 2001 - WOMEN
Furman Invitational/Pre-NCAA (Greenville, SC) Sabrina Monro wins the Silver race in the fastest time of the day (20:26) with BC's Cate Guiney (20:31) not far back. Stanford (led by freshmen Alicia Craig - 3rd, 20:48 - and Sara Bei - 4th, 20:52) takes the team win over BYU, 72 to 74. Colorado's Molly Austin wins the Purple race (20:48) with her team taking 4th. Georgetown dominates with 48 points. BYU's Nan Evans takes the college women's race in 21:42.
Wolverine Interregional (Ann Arbor, MI) The North Carolina runners who did not compete at pre-NCAAs ran here, led by Shalane Flanagan (1st, 17:26), beating Wisconsin 26 to 47.
Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival (Fayetteville, AR) Amy Mortimer (20:56) wins individually, Arkansas, led by Andreina Byrd (2nd, 21:07), wins without two of its top runners.
New England Intercollegiate Championships (Franklin Park, Boston, MA) Roisin McGettigan (1st, 17:29) outkicks Vermont's Michelle Palmer (2nd, 17:31) and leads her Providence team to victory over a field weakened by the pre-NCAA meet.
Penn State National Invitational (University Park, PA) Erin Merten of Florida wins individually (21:24) with PSU freshman Michelle Wale 2nd (21:37). James Madison takes the team title.
McDonald's Invitational (at Ohio University) Bobbie Hardbarger of Akron wins in 17:41, Ohio U. takes the team title at home.
Albany Invitational (Albany, NY) SUNY Albany takes the team title, Maggie Hanson of Hamilton wins individually (18:10).
Texas A&M Invitational Kathy Newberry (22:05) and Melissa Gulli (22:33), both unattached, go 1-2. Sita Waru (3rd, 22:43) of McNeese State is the first collegian. A&M wins at home.
Tori Neubauer Women's Maroon 5k (West Salem, WI) - Kathleen Brice of Elmhurst wins (18:25) over Luther's Johanna Olson (18:31). Wisconsin-La Crosse wins the team race. In the Gray 5k Nicole Ohmen leads Wisconsin-La Crosse team to another win, the race timer fails.

Furman Invitational/Pre-NCAA (Greenville, SC) Boaz Cheboiywo of Eastern Michigan wins the Gold race in the fastest time of the day (23:31) but Jorge Torres (2nd, 23:49) and Dathan Ritzenhein (24:11) lead Colorado to a team win. David Kimani wins the Black race in 24:06. Stanford, led by Grant Robison (2nd, 24:31) wins the team race. Sean Dollman (24:55) wins the college men's race.
Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival (Fayetteville, AR) Daniel Lincoln (29:52 for 10,000m) wins, leading Arkansas to a victory over Portland.
Jim Drews Maroon Men's 8k (West Salem, WI) Matt Tegenkamp, Isaiah Festa and Josh Spiker go 1-2-3 for Wisconsin, all finishing in 25:04 and leading their team to a win. In the Gray 8k, Wisconsin-Oshkosh's Brian Butzler wins in 26:51 and Wisconsin-La Crosse wins the team race.
Michigan Intercollegiates (Ann Arbor, MI) Alan Webb wins (25:12) over teammates Mike Wisniewski (25:44) and Mark Pilja (25:48). Michigan wins the team race easily with 18 points.
Penn State National Invitational (University Park, PA) Sean Graham (25:54 for 5.2 miles) leads his William & Mary team to a win.
New England Intercollegiate Championships (Franklin Park, Boston, MA) Hamish Thorpe (1st, 24:24), Adam Sutton (2nd, 24:24) and Dermot Galvin (3rd, 24:40) sweep the top spots for Providence and lead their team to victory over a field weakened by pre-NCAAs.

Paul Short Invitational (Lehigh University) Erin Silvering of URI wins in 21:08 for 6k. Michelle Wale of Penn State (2nd, 21:15) leads her team to a win. In the open division, Jane Steinemann wins in 22:05, leading Haverford to a win.

Notre Dame Cross Country Invitational (South Bend, IN) Luke Watson (24:06) and Ryan Shay (24:25) lead a strong Notre Dame performance
Murray Keatinge Invitational (Orono, ME) Freshman Ryan Hall (1st, 24:00) leads a Stanford victory, Louis Luchini takes second (24:03) and defending champion Mark Pilja of Michigan is 3rd (24:07).
Paul Short Invitational (Lehigh University) Dan Wilson of UConn wins in 24:19, Adrian Blincoe of Villanova is second (24:29). Penn State wins the team title. In the open division, Widener wins the team title and Justin Niedzalek (unattached) wins individually in 25:03.

CROSS COUNTRY RESULTS - SEPT. 28-30, 2001 - WOMEN
Stanford Invitational (Palo Alto, CA) Arkansas' Andreina Byrd (20:49) wins the 6k race over Stanford's Lauren Fleshman (20:55) but Stanford puts five (including the last three Foot Locker XC Champions) in the top eight to win the team race. Freshman Alicia Craig runs impressively to win the 4k race (12:40).
Iona Meet of Champions (Van Cortlandt Park, Bronx, NY) Boston College grabs three of the top four spots (led by Cate Guiney in an impressive 20:05 for 6k) to dominate the team race. BU is 2nd, followed by Cornell and Yale.
Roy Griak Invitational (St. Paul, MN) Arizona State takes the team title over Providence. Washington's Sabrina Monro (20:12, 6k) wins individually, Lisa Aguilera (20:34) of AZ State is second. In the maroon 5k, Jessican Neva (1st, 18:08) leads her North Dakota team to a win.
Carolina Challenge (PDF) (Chapel Hill, NC) Shalane Flanagan (1st, 17:20), Carol Henry (2nd, 17:20) and Erin Donohue (3rd, 17:33) lead a UNC win over the UNC alumni.

Texas Collegiate Invitational (Austin, TX) Emily Field of Texas wins by 59 seconds (17:30) as Texas edges out Rice by one point.

Roy Griak Invitational (St. Paul, MN) Matt Tegenkamp (1st, 23:58) leads Wisconsin to victory over a loaded field. Juan Reyes of Arizona State finishes 2nd (24:12). In the maroon race, Wisconsin-La Crosse wins the team race and Rob Marney of Black Hills (SD) wins in 24:46.
Auburn XC Invitational (Auburn, AL) Alabama's David Kimani (1st, 23:48) leads his team to a win.
Stanford Invitational (Palo Alto, CA) Teren Jameson of Utah wins the men's 8k race (24:35) but Stanford, led by Ian Dobson (2nd, 24:47) scores 30 points to win. Stanford's Grant Robison wins the 4k race in 10:54. Stanford freshman Ryan Hall, running unattached, makes an impressive debut in 3rd (11:07).
Cowboy Jamboree (Stillwater, OK) Arkansas defeats Abilene Christian but John Kemboi of Abilene Christian defeats Arkansas' Daniel Lincoln 24:02 to 24:04.
Iona Meet of Champions (Van Cortlandt Park, Bronx, NY) Dartmouth, led by Tom McArdle (1st, 24:42) defeats Princeton. Cornell's Max King (24:44) is a close 2nd.
Indiana State Invitational (Terre Haute, IN) Boaz Cheboiywo of Eastern Michigan runs an impressive 23:38 to win. Northern Arizona wins the team race.
Texas Collegiate Invitational (Austin, TX) Wesley Keating of Texas wins by more than a minute in 24:25, leading his team to victory.
Brissman Lundeen Invitational (Highland Springs Golf Course, Rock Island, IL) Jeremy Borling (1st, 24:56) leads his North Central team to a three-point win over Calvin. Adam Booth, a Grinnell sophomore, finishes 2nd (25:01).

Great American XC Festival (Rock Hill, SC) BYU's Tara Northcutt wins in 16:56 over UNC (and Canada's) freshman Carol Henry (17:03). Kristin Price (3rd, 17:14) - a transfer from Virginia Tech - leads an underrated NC State team to a win over BYU.
William & Mary Invitational (Williamsburg, VA) Virginia senior Jennifer Owen (1st, 17:17) leads her team to a win.
Baylor XC Invitational (Waco, TX) TCU's Gladys Keitany wins in 17:22, Baylor, led by Kara Newton (3rd, 17:39) wins the team race.

National Catholic XC Invitational (South Bend, IN) - Jennifer Handley of Notre Dame wins in 17:31, but Marquette takes the team title.

Florida Intercollegiate XC Championships - South Florida beats Florida State 38 to 41. Vicky Gill (unattached, 20:46) wins the 6k race, South Florida's Tara Quinn (21:25) is the first collegian.
Spartan Invitational (at Michigan State) Ann Somerville (17:43) and Michelle Carson (17:50) go 1-2 for Michigan State in this non-team-scoring meet.

Sundodger Invitational (PDF) - UCLA's Bryan Green wins in 24:11 and Washington State edges out Washington by one point for the team title. In the open race, David Milne of British Columbia runs the fastest time of the day (24:03) and Northwest Nazarene takes the team title.
Spartan Invitational (at Michigan State) Jeff Campbell (24:16) leads a Hanson's Running Shops sweep of the first three spots, Ben Evans of Michigan State (24:37) is the first collegian. No team scores.
