Stephanie Madia won an upset, come-from-behind State Cross title over Jessica Cickay by less than half a second. She then had a strong fourth-place finish at the Mid East Championships (only 12 seconds behind the winner) before heading to the Foot Locker Northeast Regional and finishing eighth. She edged out Massachusetts prep school star Caroline Bierbaum for the final qualifying spot by five seconds.
