Hometown: Birmingham, AL

Until this year, Alabama had never had a Foot Locker National Finalist on the boys side. Now there are two. Texas-transplant Tyler Stanfield finished 5th and home-grown Scott Fuqua finished 7th at the 2001 Foot Locker South Regional and will be representing their state in Orlando December 8. Since Stanfield moved to Alabama this year, he and Fuqua have developed quite the rivalry. They've raced five times this season with Stanfield having a slight edge, 3-2. Fuqua, who earned one of those wins at the state meet when he defended his 4A-5A title, will have an opportunity to even the score at the National Finals.

Other Notes:
...Played tennis before giving it up for running... His two favorite runners are Haile Gebrselassie and Steve Prefontaine... Dropped out of the Great American XC Festival in September with a back injury... Has PRs of 4:14 in the 1,600m and 9:03 in the 3,200m... Finished 14th at the Foot Locker South Regional in 2000.
