In 2000, Peter Meindl
grabbed the 8th and final spot at the Northeast Regional by one second,
and qualified for Foot Locker Nationals, where he went on to finish 21st.
In 2001, he wasn't leaving anything to chance as he sprinted away from
the pack to win the Northeast Regional, running 15:29 on the trails of
Van Cortlandt Park. Meindl skipped the New York State Federation meet
the week - held the week before the Northeast Regional - to focus on regionals
and nationals. He said after the regional that he's peaking at the right
time this year.

Notes:
...It's been reported that Meindl does 2,000 situps and 300 pushups every
night... Runs for the Bios AC during the off season and is coached by
Peter Holowka.
