With former teammates Kalin Toedebusch (5th at 2000 Nationals) and Linsey Blaisdell (16th at 2000 Nationals) having graduated and gone off to college, Nikki Bohnsack's time has arrived. Bohnsack, just a sophomore, has spent the season establishing herself as Rockford's (and Michigan's) number one cross country runner. She's only lost twice this season - at the early-season Spartan Invitational to Shannon Stanley, and at the Foot Locker Midwest Regional to Erika Odlaug. Bohnsack won her first Michigan State Cross Country Championship this fall after finishing an impressive fifth as a freshman.

Other Notes:

...Bohnsack ran on Rockford's National-Record-setting 4x1,600m relay last spring. They ran 20:14.84 in Dayton, OH to break the old record by six seconds.
