Lindsay Van Alstine won the Passaic Coaches Group One race by nearly three minutes, the Maroon Invitational by more than a minute and the Shore Invitational F race by just under a minute. Her one loss to a New Jersey runner, Passaic Valley's Jesse Mizzone, came at the Passaic County Championships. Van Alstine then won her third straight New Jersey State Parochial B Championship before pulling off an upset win over Mizzone at the New Jersey Meet of Champions. Van Alstine's 18:24 7th-place national-qualifying finish was also a new 5k PR. Given the difficulty of the Van Cortlandt Park, Van Alstine should be able to bring her PR down once again at the National Finals.
