Jon Pierce avenged his loss to Sayville's Brian Dalpiaz at the New York Federation Meet one week earlier by finishing second at the 2001 Foot Locker Northeast Regional. The race was won by Peter Meindl, who didn't run at the Federation meet. Pierce finished 33rd at the 2000 Foot Locker Northeast Regional.
