Carly Matthews led her Mount Tabor team to a 4-A state championship in early November, winning in record time of 17:44 on the McAlpine Greenway Park course. Running on the same course at the South Regional, she stuck with the lead pack and lowered her personal best yet again, running 17:35 for second place, one second behind winner Laura Stanley.

Other Notes:
...Matthews' Mount Tabor teammate, Matt Debole, finished second in the boys race at the South Regional and will join her at Nationals.
